 Directions for project:

 1)  Written Paper – This paper will be written in proper paragraph form containing the information listed below and include some pictures. 

2)  Poster – This will display the proper information in a creative manner.

3)  3-D Display – The display must contain all of the information required and can be built from any medium.  Popsicle sticks, legos, paper mache, wood, etc. are all acceptable ways to display the subject.

4)  Oral Presentation – This presentation must present the information below.  Costumes and props are allowed.  Notes may be used on notecards.  Please practice this so that it is between 3-5 minutes long.

 The following information should be included in your project:

  IF-you are researching a person:

            1)  Where was this person born?  In what year?

2)  Where did this person grow up?  What is one thing that took place during your

person’s childhood?

3)  What did this person do for a living?

4)  Why is this person famous?  What did this person do to become famous?

5)  Did this person impact others’ lives?  How?

6)  How did religion influence your person’s life?

  IF – you are researching a place:

            1)  When was your place founded?

            2)  What group of people founded it?

            3)  Why was your place built?

            4)  Was it a successful settlement? Why?

            5)  How has your place developed over the years?  Is it still an important place?

            Why? 

 IF – you are researching a group of people:

            1)  Where did/do these people live?

            2)  What are some interesting facts about their culture? How did they live? What

            did they eat?  How did they dress?

            3)  Who are some of the important people in their history?  Why are these people

            important?

            4)  How did these people influence other civilizations?

 IF – you are researching a thing:

1)      Where is it located?  How long has it been there?

2)      Who made it?  Why?

3)      How was it made?

4)      What makes this thing so famous?

5)      Is there an interesting story linked to your object?

6)      What is being done to preserve your object?

 Please enjoy this project with your child, but remember that this is your child’s project.  You may help with ideas, costumes, and “dangerous” building materials.  Allow your child to create in his/her own way.
